Ok, so I love the candles on this one table. Then, I love the dif color pink flowers and the pink chinese lanterns. I also like the lemonade big glass canisters. Since it will be winter, I would love to do hot cider in it! I also like the centerpieces in the last picture with the round bowls of water and flowers :)

I think that I want to use chinese lanterns if my reception allows! I love some of these ideas! I love the black and white cocktail party idea. Black and white. I love the cupcakes too!! Chocolate cake, white icing and cocoa powder dusted on top...One of these images has navy blue in it, but just imagine it's black. just some inspiration ideas!

Ok- I totally am stealing picks form a 10K wedding blog, but this girl has some great ideas! Check out using stones in vases! Ok-the stones in this pic are ugly and as is the color theme and kinda the flower...but think about little stones and how they would hold up one rose easily!

Flowers and Mason Jars

I have noticed that mason jars and cool little drink bottles are being used at a lot of weddings. the question is
1-how many flowers will i be able to afford?
2-will mason jars in the winter look tacky?
3-i'm having an evening wedding. won't mason jars be more formal??

Saving money

So-I've done some calculations.
Renting plates, knives, forks, spoon, mug and saucer would cost me for 300 ppl:
$550

Ok, so I might need to do plastic!! As much as real plates would look smashing, in the end, the plastic fork will still feed me, right??

Ok, so table cloths. I was thinking I could ask to borrow white ones from different ladies I know. My color scheme might have changed bc of money, so my colors are pink and black-and silver? But, I was thinking about the table cloths and googling "cheap table cloths"

FLAT SHEETS!
You can get them for 3 to 4 dollars each at Wal Mart, in several color choices.
After the wedding, they can be recycled as curtains - just buy the curtain rings with clips on the bottom.
You can either hem the sheets, or just turn over the excess on the top to make sort of a valance.

Pretty nifty. I might give it a try.

New Budget

Well, for different reasons, my budget has evaporated!! Now I am on a serious budget!!! It will be a challenge, but hopefully it will be fun!

So, right now I need to find a cheap place to get married. There is my home church Providence, but I would prefer a traditional church for the ceremony. I don't mind our Delta Lake Center, but we want to have dancing, and they are more particular about music.

If anyone has any ideas...let me know!

Big Lots

I really like Big Lots now. Today I went to an antique shop, 2 goodwill's, 1 furniture store, and Big Lots. Big Lots has recently redone their grocery section and I just love the sales!! They have tables, dressers, mattresses and couches and chairs! I am thinking this is definitely a great deal for a newly married couple! Mattresses range from 280-550 and the brand is serta...with the little sheep. I seem to remember those commercials!!

Ambiance

Ambiance. So I keep describing to MF (my fiance) that I want a certain type of ambiance. He always looks at me a little funny. Haha. Flowers are soo expensive!! So, I'm prob not opting for them when it comes to the reception center pieces. I'm thinking candles. The more pics I see the more I like candles. I think I really want a night wedding to accent the warm, elegant ambiance that I am going for. I want people to go into the room and think, "how lovely".

Guest book

My gf just got married this past weekend and had gorgeous wildflowers. I loved them! Too bad I'm having a winter wedding!! But, she also had a guest book just like this! So cute and creative. A lot of guests were writing personal notes on the back of them and I love this idea!

Photo Albums

I've seen this on two blogs now. I'm not sure what's up with it. App an alternative to an album??

Speaking of photos- photography. That is something that has been a challenge. I have found all the photographers I love (creative, professional, good lighting, different creative focusing, etc. ya i don't know much) have had their minimum package start at 2.500 or 2.800 and up!!

Yikes! How do you secure an awesome photographer without paying that? I've heard it's not possible. Photography is really important to me! My mom really thinks I should get a photographer with an album included. Guess I need to check out that blurb thing.

Bedding

I have been having trouble finding bedding that the Mr. and the will be Mrs. both like. My fiance likes bright colors. That could mean painting the wall a fun cheery color, which I'm cool with. But what about bedding?? White looks beautiful in the magazines, but hey, he's a guy! So won't dirt show? That is what my mom always taught me anyways. I was just checking out Martha's blog (gotta love Martha) and found a link for bedding...and app this website has overstock! I noticed the prices look pretty good! Maybe I'll check that out! I'm not really sure what is a good price on bedding at this point...but anyways. It's worth a look.

I love Pottery Barn, but nothing says male and female to me and MF (my fiance). Any Ideas?? BBB and Target haven't helped us that much either. I would love a really pretty green. Not a rosemary or a lime but an in between.

Marriage, anyone?

Ok-so this is my second blog. I have a confession to make: I love the blog world! My fiance would probably say I'm a dork. Maybe. But, as I've been in the process of being engaged, planning and researching blogs have been soo helpful!! Who knew that girls before me had pioneered a wedding and all they did on 2K and 10K budgets...crafts, ideas, photography, etc.

So. Splice and Lore. Why this title. Well, if you know me, you know I like to be unique-so that had to apply to the name.
